My Life and Journey

Originally from Duncanville, Texas, Ariel Atkins is a WNBA Champion, an Olympic Gold Medalist, and a Texas Longhorn Alumna. She was selected 7th overall in the 2018 WNBA Draft by the Washington Mystics and has spent the previous 4 years with the team. Before embarking on her professional career in DC, she was a student-athlete at the University of Texas, where she received her BA in Sports Management, with a minor in Business. In addition to playing with the Mystics, Ariel has made an impact on top-tier teams across the world, specifically in Australia, Poland, Turkey, and Ukraine. Regardless of where she is, her purpose has always been to use her platform and voice to empower young women, as she is passionate about lifting others up — her ultimate goal is to leave the people and places she interacts with, better than she found them.

When she isn’t working on her craft, Ariel’s favorite things to do are spending time with her family, getting out to explore nature, and eating Salted Caramel Ice Cream.
